Shelby
is quite a change of the norm for me, being my first dog with "hair"! As
a professional groomer, I wanted to get a dog to improve my scissoring skills
with, and my search for an ethical breeder brought me to Jewels Poodles, located
in western Virginia.
When the time came for me to pick up my puppy, Mary decided to let me choose
between two girls, her keeper(Shelby) and the one she had selected for me.
But one look at Shelby's gorgeous face I knew that she was the one I wanted
and so this lovely girl entered my life and has opened me up to a whole new
experience! Yes, I have become a better groomer because of her, but
she's also taking me on a fun adventure in the show ring.
Shelby earned her UKC Championship and Grand Championship in very short order
in 2021. She then came home to grow up and grow hair. 2022 has
been a great year for her. In just 7 weekends, she is a Best In Show winner,
has multiple group wins and placements, and is in the Top 10 in breed standing
for 2022. She earned her Emerald Grand Championship and has a win towards
her Ruby.
She has also been shown in just a couple AKC shows and is pointed and has
a major reserve. She will be pursuing her AKC Championship in earnest
in 2023, as well as complete her health testing.
